From Traditional to Crypto: Odd Allies in the Financial World

-The crypto industry is spending millions of dollars in Democratic primaries to elect corporate-friendly Democrats or corrupt progressives.
-Sam Bankman-Fried, a large crypto donor, is using his alliance with progressives to sanitize himself and gain leverage over them.
-Bankman-Fried’s super PAC, Protect Our Future, supported several corporate Democrats, but also spent millions on ads promoting some progressives, including Jonathan Jackson.
-In Oregon’s Sixth District Democratic primary, Bankman-Fried spent an outlandish $14 million to promote unknown candidate Carrick Flynn (who lost).
-The big winners in the crypto game are insiders, not small users.
-Crypto can help Black people denied access to credit and capital, as well as the unbanked and the young.
-Gary Gensler, the SEC Chair, “just doesn’t get tech.” This is nonsense. Gensler spent years at MIT studying crypto, and taught courses on it.
-Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), a leading House progressive, backs weak crypto regulation.
